Direct – will be able to back-up to the forms and discharge from the back of the truck

Pump – cannot reach the forms and have to use an “extended arm” to help place the concrete.  Mostly used when the top of the forms are elevated or above the discharge point of the ready-mix truck.  Can also be used when ground conditions are not feasible to get a concrete truck back to the forms.

Wheel-barrow – do not need a pump, but can’t reach the forms from the back of the truck.

Buggy – do not need a pump, but can’t reach the forms from the back of the truck.  Using a buggy is a motorized wheelbarrow that will help speed up the process.  It is sometimes referred to as Georgia Buggy.

Crane bucket – similar to a pump when trying to discharge concrete into a higher form than the discharge level of a truck.  Also used when ground conditions are not feasible to get a truck back to the forms.
